Who We Are
Meet the Mt. Lebanon School Board Candidates
Andrew is running for School Director because he envisions a district that nurtures culturally responsible students that excel academically and succeed professionally in any field they choose. Andrew moved to Mt. Lebanon in 1996 as a third grade student at Jefferson Elementary School. Andrew is a graduate of Mt Lebanon who had left but came back. His experiences as an African-American male in the community was vastly different than what his fellow classmates or other community members experienced, thus allowing him to bring diversity not only racially but in thought to the School Board.
Andrew is a husband to his wife, Jamie, of 11 years and a father to two boys, Andrew Jr. (10) and Jamison (2). Andrew has worked as an operational engineer since his graduation from the University of Pittsburgh, Swanson School of Engineering. In addition, he currently serves on the School Board and holds a position on the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Committee.
Annamaria is running for school director to ensure that we provide the best educational opportunities to our student body, while we maintain our standard of excellence in education. To that end, DEI is of great importance to her. She believes that creating a DEI educational program for administration, faculty, and students is of great importance. As a community, we must represent and encourage a welcoming environment to our school district. It is important to her that her daughter, grandchildren, and community see more diversity in their instructors and administration.
Growing up in Mt. Lebanon since 4th grade at Howe School through graduation from Mt.Lebanon High School in ‘86, and living here most of my adult life, I grew to appreciate my community and its resources of strong infrastructure, year-round recreation programs and most importantly, education. Throughout my 25 years of volunteer work, I have found that it is imperative to give back to my community with my time, work and experience. In addition to my lived experiences with diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI), including my Latina heritage, my family experiences with adoption, mental health issues, and addiction, will undoubtedly impact me as a future School Director.
Claire is running for School Director because she has extensive experience with governing organizations and institutions, a career in education and policy, the knowledge to build an inclusive school district, and an unwavering commitment to Mt. Lebanon.
She is a working mother of three children, Bradley (7), Devon (5) and Caroline (1) and live in the Washington Elementary area. Claire has the experience, as both a practitioner and academic, to help guide the district to meet the needs of all students, educators, administrators and residents.

She believes our schools are the heart of our community and her intention is to ensure the board fulfills the District’s mission "to provide the best education possible for each and every student."
